My National Collection - Paphiopedilum - the Asian tropical Ladies Slipper Orchids.
National Collections are held under the auspices of NCCPG ( The National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens ) but the contents of the collection are the poroperty of the Collection Holder - who accepts certain reponsibilities - according to his/her/their interests. Some holders go i for the taxonomic botany side, and write learned papers suggesting that Orchis x is synonymous with Orchis y , and so on. Others go in for the education of others r egarding their collection , by way of talks, books, displays, even personal web-sites...
